GE Healthcare and Microsoft Launch New Technology to help Clinical Diagnosis of COVID-19
GE Healthcare has just announced that it has partnered with
the Microsoft Azure cloud platform to introduce new technologies that can help
clinicians diagnose COVID-19. The new software solution will broaden the
horizon of medical institutions and determine which patients have a potential
risk of worsening symptoms. As more and more people are admitted to hospital
because of COVID-19, this move is expected to alleviate the pain points of
intensive care and clinical surveillance.
GE hopes that the new solution can help clinicians get rid of
the shackles and manage the data of each patient in the whole hospital network
in one place.
Healthcare providers can manage an ICU network
By deploying Mural, a small number of healthcare providers
can manage an ICU network that includes hundreds of beds. In view of the
serious shortage of potential emergency clinical care, the GE system can also
provide additional supervision and support to the team.
It is reported that Mural aggregates near real-time data from
ventilators, patient monitoring systems, electronic cases, laboratories and
other systems. It allows doctors to monitor patients one-to-many and can be
used as a supplement to existing monitoring equipment in the ward.
Intro to Mural Virtual Care Solution
In addition, the remote monitoring function can also reduce
the clinician's exposure to COVID-19, while maintaining a field of view
throughout the hospital.
Because Mural runs in the Azure cloud, it can be quickly
deployed and scaled at a reasonable price.
Before January 31, 2021, GE will also waive software
subscription fees for this period.
